We See Them Here, We See Them There...More TSP Trivia...

Leslie Howard and Anthony Andrews, who have both appeared as Sir Percy Blakeney in the 1934 and 1982 films respectively, have also both shared the role of Professor Henry Higgins, Leslie Howard in the 1930's film Pygmalion, and Anthony Andrews in the West End production of My Fair Lady in 2003.

Ooh, I didn't know Leslie Howard had played Henry Higgins! Interesting...
The things I would do to have seen that production back in 2003! Is there are recording of it somewhere? (Please, please say there is!) Otherwise I'll just have to get on with inventing a time machine...

What I wouldn't give to see a recording of that 2003 production...

Abby,

Unfortunately, I have not found any recordings. And believe me, I have completely *scoured* the internet. And nada. Not even two seconds of "Why Can't the English". I haven't given up hope yet, and there are still many hours ahead to spend in typing every possible combination in Google. :-D

So hurry with that time machine...I will be the first to climb aboard with you!

Amy,

You're telling me!!!! I want to see him in this role SO BAD. I know last year he did some concert-version of it...ARGH. No recording of that either, of course, although I found a few pics. Which only made the frustration worse. :-D Remind me to send them sometime. I have a feeling that Rex Harrison would be toppled from his "Best Higgins" perch in my book. :-P

You know...we should have a poll sometime of "who was the best Sir Percy". I have a feeling there's a major bias on this blog. Which, ya know, isn't a bad thing. You've gotta acknowledge hard cold facts, like the fact that Anthony Andrews IS Sir Percy. It would be wrong to not acknowledge the truth, right?

Right. :-P

REALLY?! Oh, now THAT I MUST SEE!!

I'd vote for Anthony Andrews, Alexandra. I'm sorry, but Leslie Howard just didn't cut it. Anthony Andrews IS Sir Percy.

Right? Of course right!
